Renewable Energy
BEL has decided to work on solar power plants that are based on Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) and founded Micro Small Business Unit. In addition, ISRO selected BEL for producing four-junction solar cells for their satellite based applications. Defense Unmanned System
BEL collaborates with DRDO, international original equipment manufacturer’s (OEMs) and institute of scientific and industrial research (ISIR) in India, as well as startups to meet UAV/UGV/UUV/USV needs of Indian armed forces or stakeholders outside government .BEL is designing various payload types required on board unmanned aircraft vehicles (UAV) including sensors. Also, BEL developed Drone Guard System among others which have helped to detect any unauthorized entry into restricted spaces. Contractor also has ongoing projects like producing missiles(air to ground, ground to air, anti-tank weapons), seeker systems outfitted with radar frequency (RF) or infrared radiation sensors (IR) fitted for tracking objects they are fired at, as well as manufacturing loads of gun shells/shells for different types of firearms.
