Railway Electronics company offers two major items: TCAS and TMS. One guarantees safety through prevention of train collisions while the other ensures efficient use of tracks. TCAS was chosen by the government as India’s national Automatic Train Protection and it was given a name – KAVACH. It has also been awarded a contract by Indian Railways covering installation of the same along 260 km stretch as well as inclusion in 120 engines operating between Delhi and Howrah; besides this there are two tender proposals at WCRR (West Central Railway) and WR (Western Railway) routes within DMRC (Delhi-Mumbai metro) corridor; all these services involve upgrading or replacement of obsolete systems under various contracts including those involving DMRC’s fast moving EMUs.

Defense
The Company manufactures batteries for different types of military equipment. This includes batteries for aircraft, submarines, torpedoes, tanks, missiles, artillery and other such equipment. For instance, it produces Type 1 batteries that are used in kilo class submarines as well as Varunasthra torpedo and Type 4 batteries for Scorpene class submarines in the Indian Navy. Lead Acid Batteries – In FY22, the Indian Army awarded a defense order (for 2V VRLA batteries) for its Data Center application. On the other hand, the Company recorded its entry into Africa when it exported 12V UPS batteries and focused its efforts on commercial exports as it provided batteries for other international projects.
