The company is responsible for the operation and management of the catering and hospitality services at railway stations, on trains as well as other key locations as it promotes domestic travel and foreign tourism via budget hotels’ construction, special packages creation and e-ticketing service provision.

Mobile Catering – Despite its 391 pantry cars supplying catering services, the company provides on-board vending services for trains that do not have pantry cars as well. Meals are ordered by passengers and are picked from designated pick-up points.
Static Catering -The company operates 306 food plazas and fast food units, 55 Jan-Ahaar and 6 central kitchens for low-cost meals services to passengers, 11 base kitchens, 180 refreshment rooms for ready-to-serve and thali meals and 6 central kitchens.
Other Hospitality Services -The corporation provides 10 executive lounges as well as 25 sleeping rooms with 4 Rail Yatri Niwas /BNR Hotels that have internet access, all you can eat dining, and bathing facilities that are cheap.
e-catering -E-catering is a new service which permits customers to order and pay for meals at restaurants in 200 stations and have them delivered to their seats. E-catering service had 1774 partners restaurants associated with it as well as was offering 8632 meals each day.
Packaged Drinking Water -The company has fifteen factories and five more are being built where 19.86 crore fully automated water bottles are produced with 42% of their capacity used.
Internet Ticketing – The company’s mobile app and website are the only authorized platforms providing online booking service for Indian Railways, with an average of 11.44 lakh tickets booked daily.
The Company further has in recent times introduced a number of new features such as retiring room facility, bus facility integration, payment in EMIs, add meals options, e- gift voucher and automatic payment mechanism for disbursing payments to hotels, bus operators etc.
Apart from that, they also created e-ticketing applications meant for Paramilitary Forces and Booking Reserved Rail e-tickets for BSF personnel, they have also come up with Disha chatbot through which clients can purchase tickets by voice or chat agents.
Tourism –In its area of tourism, the Business provides tourism packages, Plane Packages for businesses, City Tours to clients all via various Verticals like air package or town tours. Company in the Year 2022 had 2440 daily airline tickets booked on its websites, 39 chartered trains plying its routes and sold 63,350 trip packages across its portals alone during this period. State Teerth -An introduction by the Govt of India to the Dekho Apna Desh initiative has led to the introduction of Shri Ramayan Yatra by IRCTC, through a deluxe AC Tourist train meant for religious tourists. The journey that takes 17 days is scheduled to cover 10 cities in six states in which Shri Ram lived. The company has launched Pilgrim Special for people who want to traverse the heart of India but on a budget.
