As on March 31, 2021 GoI’s stake was 51.34%. It was established in 1989 for EHVAC and HVDC transmission corridors.

EV charging infra
In encouraging e-mobility, the company has adopted Electric Vehicles (EV) for its own use and put up fast EV charging stations throughout the country. 11 fast charging points for electric vehicles were established during the year. Currently, POWERGRID has 16 EV charging locations in public spaces located at Delhi, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Kochi & Kozhikode. Delhi, Bengaluru, Mysuru and Shillong are some of the places where there are ongoing efforts to construct 24 more public EV charging stations.

The company POWERGRID is installing 11 electric car charging locations in Shillong on the second stage of FAME India plan. POWERGRID is in certain stage of talks with different Municipal Corporations, DISCOMs, Metro Rail Authorities etc., as injection of Energy Vehicle Charging Station within the country will require such expansion.
