In the first half of financial year 2024, the company holds a power capacity of 14381 MW, including 8860 MW of thermal power, 1007 MW of wind power and 880 MW of hydro power. TPCL is strong worldwide with presence in Georgia, Adiaristsgali and Zambia (ITPC) where they have Hydro project stake of 50%. Georgia has 187 MW of installed capacity and Zambia 120 megawatts while Bhutan’s Dagachhu with 126 megawatts installed capacity for hydro project, TPCL controls 26%. It owns 76 mtpa coal mines in Indonesia through 3 associated companies.
Recent Development
The company has a 1000 MW Bhivpuri PSP brownfield project that is expected to start at Mid-2024 and is estimated to complete by the end of 2027. Also, the project will entail an expected capex of approximately ~Rs. 4,700 crs.
By Mid-2024, the company will commence construction of a brownfield project with a power purchase agreement (PPA) of 1,800 MW capacity at Shirawta, costing approximately Rs.7850 crore and complete by end of 2028.
